For those solo travelers and solo travelers with kiddos, these are a few things I am also adding to my travel gear!
First up would be a toddler leash
Yes, I know before you come at me about leash kids, I get that. Though the photo I included is of us skiing above where I had to make my own harness and not having a double-length sling I used what I had.
This worked in making sure my kiddo to not get away from me, however as you see in the photo this harness lets you direct their hips.
It includes a small pouch for shoes, snacks, sunglasses they tend to ditch, and it’s blue. They have pink to though my son always gets stoked on blue. I will also only use it for skiing.
Hot shoe for any tripod
This one adds to any of your portable mounts. If you are like me you have a full-on DSLR and don’t want to lug it around some days. Now a more portable phone mic would be a Rhode go 2 though I already have a Rhode for the DSLR and would just make it more affordable to make it adaptable to my phone.

Mic to Iphone
Now I know you might be like Raimy why wouldn’t I just get one that directly links to my iPhone. I will link a more sleek mic up next though you will still need an adaptor for most mics you go with and this is a cheap option.
This will work for my DSLR hot shoe Rhode mic and if I keep track of it, it will be compatible with the other mic I will list.
RØDE Microphones GO II Wireless Microphone System, Black (WIGOIIS)
Now, this would be ideal and less dramatic than my ol DSLR mic with a dead cat. It is a tad pricey but sooooo worth it and is next up on my list of treat yourself days.
Privacy Magnetic Case
This is actually something I saw on tik tok and it made me soooo happy. I do a lot of gif work, standing in lines doing personal shopping, with my headphones in and do a little editing here and there.
I see other people also just trying to pass time while I’m out and it’s nearly natural for people to look what I’m doing. Now I don’t edit any spicey content though it is weird to have someone observe me watching a video of myself talking.
I do most of my videos for the youtube channel on my phone as I shoot them also on my phone. Here is a ways to keep some privacy if you even just like scrolling in public!
